Hobbies

Baseball - I have played baseball since very young.  I played at Queen of All Saints Elementary School and Fenwick High School.  Now I am on the Dragons in the Midwest Suburban League.  Feel free to check out the league at http://www.midwestsuburbanleague.com/ or the team here

Go - This is an ancient Chinese strategy game growing popularity in the USA.  I play on the internet at http://kgs.kiseido.com/ .  My screen name is Urso and my rank 3k at the moment.  I also play at the Evanston Go Club every Wednesday at the Barnes and Noble in Evanston, IL.  Feel free to visit if you are in the area or message me on KGS.

Art - I've been drawing casually all my life.  This cat was an assignment for Art Instruction Schools.

Juggling - I am currently working on five balls.  The clubs and rings I can only do three.  I have found a nice doubles partner in my professor at school.

Chess - I run a club at UIC that meets in the inner circle on Fridays during the school year.  I have judged a chess tournament twice a year at Edison School in Morton Grove.  Recently I improved the tournament by writing a program using java swing to keep track of all the results and set the match ups.  The Edison tournament and club are currently struggling due to budget cuts for public schools in that district, but hopefully they will find a way to survive.

Skateboarding - I have been skateboarding for a couple years but haven't really done it in a while.  I can do most of the basic tricks.  I have been to many skate parks, but the best is still the one in Glencoe, IL.

Snowboarding - I am limited to just a couple times a year due to location, but still am competent on the slopes.  Five years ago was a great experience when I traveled to Breckenridge Resort in Colorado.

Golf - I try to go once a week as it is a nice change from the computer room.  I strongly recommend getting custom made clubs.  I just got a brand new set last year made by my Uncle Ron and I could never live without them.  I consider anything around 45 (9 holes) a quality outing.

Volleyball - I play ever Friday during the school year at the gym in my old grade school.  I really want to join a league if I ever get around to it.

Bowling - I bowl in the Shot Shooters Trio league at Classic Bowl, but am averaging a meager 150 because they change the oil pattern every week to teach (and the mess with) us.

Pool - My brother got a pool table last June and I have been addicted to it since.
